How to make a list box selected values save to SharePoint list

Hello All,

I need help being able to save the selected values from a list box save to a SP list.

Here is what I have done:

I created a SP list with several columns, lets say they are called Fruit, Vegetables, Meat

I created a column/field for fruit and made it a choice field, with the following choices: Banana, Orange, Apple

I created an application and added a list box, labeled it "Fruit" , this list box has all the appropriate values within it (Banana, Orange, Apple)

Here is my problem: When I make a selection from the list box, any of the 3 fruits and then save the form, that fruit column information is not saved in the SP column. So, how I set this up so that when a user selects one or multiple fruits, that data is then saved to the SP list?

Thank you in advance.

    Hi @marcoagastelum1 ,

    What are the Items of the List Box and the Update of the data card it is contained in?

    Thanks for the help!

    Items for list box: Choices('Discount Request Application'.'2007 Jewelry')

    So, I have choices(the SP list name, the column name)

    The update function is blank at this moment...

    Hi @marcoagastelum1 ,

    You need an Update on the card, or it will not write anything back to SharePoint - I assume you are using SubmitForm(). Try this on the Update

    {Value:YourListBoxName.Selected.Value}

    I am using SubmitForm() on the submit/update record button, but not on the list box card.

    I am not able to enter "Result" I get the red line underneath because its not available, any other option?

    @marcoagastelum1 ,

    Sorry - I was answering two posts at the time and got yours mixed up - you need .Value (I have amended my original post)

    Thanks for the help!

    Well it liked the function (no red line) {Value:ListBox2.Selected.Value} but it still did not write back to the SP list. Am I missing something? or any other ideas?

    Here is what it looks like for reference.

    Thanks again for the help!

    Hi @marcoagastelum1 ,

    To make sure I have this correct - you have a list box with the Items

    Choices('Discount Request Application'.'2007 Jewelry')

    and this is producing the list you expect.

    It is contained in a DataCard on your form with its DataField being a Choice column. The Update of this card is

    {Value:YourListBoxName.Selected.Value}

    and you are saying that when using SubmitForm() on the form, it does not write the data to the list?

    That is correct.

    What could I be missing?

    @marcoagastelum1 ,

    Have you looked at the SharePoint list? It may be updating and not displaying - the problem may be the Default of the ListBox - it should be

    ThisItem.YourChoiceFieldName.Value
