Automatic Edit Mode (SP List APP)

Hi,

I have done some searches and watched some videos on this topic but a lot refer to older ways of working or the timer control, which does not seem to have the desired effect.

Background

I used the customise powerapps form option on a sharepoint list (in hingsight would have been better not to)

On double click of the list, it goes to the record of the list but the form is in view mode.

What have I tried

Putting checks if the form mode is view and using editform() in both onvisible, onstart and in timers. None seem to work.

I know I could just put an invisible button over the form the user has to click to put it into editmode but that doesnt seem so elegant.

Second question

Is it true that onstart and onvisible are not triggered if the users closes the form and reopnes it by clicking addnew or double clicking the list? All my variables that are set this way dont change. Is there anyway to force this behaviour?

    Hi @Scott_UK

With  a custom SharePoint form, you can modify the OnView property of the SharePointIntegration object so that it calls EditForm rather than ViewForm. By doing this, the form will appear in Edit mode when the user attempts to open the record in view mode.

When a form is closed, it'll be hidden and still remain in memory. That's the reason why the OnVisible won't be triggered again.
