No column names for PowerBIIntegration.Data

Hello!

I am building an app which is connected to the PowerBI data. The situation is as follows:

1) I create a canvas app in PowerApps Studio (because I need a tablet view)

2) Get PowerApp visual in Power BI and populate it with values

3) Open Studio and have PowerBIIntegration field visible

Problem: I can't get a column names for PowerBIIntegration data. I type [@PowerBIIntegration].Data for default values and it shows that this data is a table, but after it askes for the column specification and doesn't show me anything just an error "Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized." after I put a dot and no tip on the column name is shown.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

    Hi @bonifacious ,

How do you display the Power BI Integration Data within your canvas app? Using Gallery control?

If you use Gallery control to display the Power BI Integration Data, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

Set the Items property of Gallery to following:

    [@PowerBIIntegration].Data

then add several Labels within your Gallery, set the Text property to following:

    ThisItem.ColumnName

When you type ThisItem. within the Label, these available column names would be listed after the Property Selector (.) .

If the issue still exists, please consider create a new canvas app from your PowerApps Custom Visual via clicking the "New" button as below:

    4.JPG

then check if you could reference the column value within the opening canvas app.

    Best regards,

It turned out that if you need to connect Power BI data to existing power app, you need to publish report you use first and connect via Power BI Service and not desktop.
