Behavior of collection on collection

I’m building canvas app with CDS, 5 entities. Also through RSS connector I crated collection to store RSS feed data.

In my canvas app screen, I have 1 gallery and 1 dropdown and I would like to show all data comes from 6 different data sources by switching Dropdown value user chose.

In order to make this happen, first of all, I created 6 collections like;

  ClearCollect(Source1,colInfoA),;

  ClearCollect(Source2, colInfoB);

  ClearCollect(Source3, colInfoC);

  ClearCollect(Source4, colInfoD)

…) like that.

Then I was trying to collect these into one collection like “ClearCollect(ColALL,ColInfoA, ColInfoB, ColInfoC, ColInfoD)

I applied gallery “Items” as ColALL and in the gallery, I use Switch formula for each text box to show data accordingly as user choose in Dropdown.

This works fine, but my problem is…

When I collect from data source and tried to SortByCulumn or Filter or Search, seems collection gets empty, filled with no data though conditions are matched.

I investigate this and found that, let’s say, use “Search” when I collect Source2, colInfoB, only column I picked as search column data is filled in collection and rest of other column are empty.

Could you please tell me why and how I can achieve my goal, use only 1 gallery and show all collected data switched by Dropdown value mentioning data source…

Appreciate your help!

    Hi @Sam44

    Why not just create a collection from the datasources themselves. ie. ClearCollect(ColALL,  Source1, Source2, Source3, Source4, Source5). The only requirement is that the column names in all the sources must be identical.  Moreover, if you had a column called SourceNumber to identify which source is being used,( ie 1-5) in each source, you could filter ColALL by that number if you wished in addition to any other column that you wanted to filter using "&&".  The one limitation you might run into is a delegation problem if the number of items in a particular Source exceeded 2k. If I am not understanding your issue, please let me know.
