Are Power Apps Field calls which are bound to Data Source Sequential?

Hi Team - I had a generic question on limitation of connection to SharePoint. I have lot of lists and libraries that i need to connect to. Is there any official statement from MS about limit on number of connections a single app can have? Earlier it had mentioned 30 but i do not see that in their guide now.

My second question is I have a Canvas App screen with 10 dropdown fields. Each field is connected to a SharePoint List with large number of items (500). The items property of the  dropdown1 is 'SharePoint List 1'.Title, dropdown 2 = 'SharePoint List 1'.Title and so on for all the 10 dropdowns respectively. My question is will each of the 10 calls happen sequentially? Like dropdown 1 data gets populated, then dropdown 2 and so on?

    Hi @Joywin ,

For your first question, there is not a fixed quantity of connections in an App that's limited, and 500 or above items list is not a that large dataset, no need to worry about it.

For the second question, I don't think it's a good practice to let the user scroll and select in 10 Dropdown controls with more 500 items. Instead, you can use Combo boxes, enable searching and let users to search in the Controls.

    Best regards,

@v-jefferni - 500 items was just an assumption. some lists could cross 2000 items. First question is answered thank you.

For the second question, we use combobox, i just wanted to know how the data sources in each of the combobox is loaded(synchronous or async) when the screens is navigated to. When i monitor the performance it looks like the dropdowns are kind of loaded synchronously.

    Hi @Joywin ,

Yes, the controls download data simultaneously when the screen is on view. But since you mentioned each Combo box only gets data from a single column (Title, single line of text) of a separate list, the data is still not large even though there can be more than 2000 items in the list.

    Best regards,
