Are you using the modern knowledge source as SharePoint or classic source configured in generative answers.

There could be a few reasons that generative Answers not giving results: Refer to an article below.

Make sure you ass Sites.Read.All and Files.Read.All

You can also set the content moderation set to Low in Generative Answers and ask questions differently and a few simple and straight forward questions to understand if there is a misconfiguration.
