Hello

I am sure someone has tried to explain this somewhere, however after reading through too many articles and confusing myslef I would like to have answer to very basic question.

If users from organizatons have Office 365 E1 or E3 or E5 license , they can technically Use and Create both PowerAPP and Powerautomate. Just basic functionality.  They never need Per user/ per app plan . (Again, I am just enquiring about basic features, We do not need solutions, portals or premium connectors.)

Question is about sharepoint list form customization using powerapps and CANVAS app , both.  Please help enlighten me.

To repeast, as long as user has E1 or E3 or E5 they can use Powerpp/automate. (With basic features)

If a user has an Office 365 E1 to E5 license they can build Power Apps and Power Automate flows that use standard data sources like Excel and SharePoint.  This includes both Canvas apps and custom SharePoint list forms.   Premium connectors or Model driven apps would require an upgraded license.  Designing customized list forms requires an Office 365 E level license, but consuming those custom forms, for example external users, does not require a "seeded" Power Apps license from Office 365.

So yes, as long as user has E1 or E3 or E5 they can use Power Apps/Automate with standard connectors.  This of course assumes that administrators haven't disabled the "seeded" Power Apps license included with Office 365.

There is always a last sentence to confuse further  😋. About "Seeded" power app license. I am assuming, When E1/E3/E5 license is assigned to user, "Seeded" PA license is assigned autoamtically and admin has to explicitly remove "Seeded" license?

Does "seeded" license cause additional cost? (Apart from E licneses?  can you think of scenario why admin will decide to remove seeded license, even if they dont cost additioanly )

"Seeded" just means the Power Apps license that is included with the Office 365 SKU.  Yes, it is assigned by default when you assign an Office 365 license.  But it can be specifically removed from a user by an administrator without removing their Office 365 license.

Hi Paul.  Are users with Business Basic and Business Standard also covered same as E1/E3?
