App Idea: Is It Possible

I want to create an registration tool app in Powerapps that allows employees in my school to sign in a student to "Schulinsel". I tried to build the app (look at the picture). My question is; Is that even possible, that I get the information? So that the teachers can fill out the formular and I get the information?

Thank you!

    Hi @melouny1 :

    I am not very sure what your problem is,could you tell me :

    • Do you need the function to let employees enter student information in the form, and then save the data to the data source?
    • Could you describe the function of this app in detail?(Because of the language barrier, I don’t quite understand your screenshot.)
    • What is "Schulinsel"?A SharePoint list?

    If you only need to add new records to the data source "Schulinsel", you only need to use the Patch function.

    For example:

    I assume Schulinesl is the data source that with four fields(feld1/date,field2/text,feild3/number,field4/text)

    Add a button and set it's OnSelect property to:

    Patch(Schulinsel,Defaults(Schulinsel),{field1:DatePicker.SelectedDate,field2:TextInput.text,filed3:Rating.Value,field4:Dropdown.SelectedText.Value}); /*add a new record to the data source "Schulinsel"*/
    Reset(DatePicker); /*reset the control*/
    Reset(TextInput);
    Reset(Rating);
    Reset(Dropdown)

    After selecting this button, all records will be submitted, and then all controls will be reset to the default values.

    Best Regards,

    Bof

    @melouny1

    Falls es hilft, kann ich gerne auch „auf Deutsch“ versuchen zu helfen. 😉

    Concerning your problem: how do you want to be informed. There are several possibilities. Do you want get an email directly if a student is added? What is the database in background? Excel? SharePoint?

    Thank you very much for the suggestions

    On functionality:

    The teacher should be able to fill out a form via app, which saves the entries in Sharepoint.
    This serves to register a certain program for the student.

    I have tried the suggested code, but it seems to have syntax errors. (You Screenshots)

    Any idea what else might be wrong?

    Have a nice weekend.

    Hi @melouny1
    The reason for the error: the syntax in German version is a little bit different then in English.

    In English:

    • the „;“ (semicolon) separates several commands.
    • the „,“ (comma) separates the arguments in formulas

    in German:

    • the „;;“ (two semicolons) separates several commands.
    the „;“ (semicolon) separates the arguments in formulas

    example for two commands

    [EN] If(TextInput1.Text=„“,true,false);Set(varNew,Param(„Parameter“)

    [DE] If(TextInput1.Text=„“;true;false);;Set(varNew;Param(„Parameter“)

    My recommendation: if you are planning to do more apps: switch to English version! You’ll find more examples in the internet, not all commands are well translated and the double semicolon is ... strange. 😉

    Hi @melouny1

    Thanks @max81  for the detailed explanation.The point is:

     In some specific region, “;” represent “,”, “;;”, represent “;”.

    Please try this code:

    Patch(Schulinsel;Defaults(Schulinsel);{field1:DatePicker.SelectedDate;field2:TextInput.text;filed3:Rating.Value;field4:Dropdown.SelectedText.Value});; /*add a new record to the data source "Schulinsel"*/
    Reset(DatePicker);; /*reset the control*/
    Reset(TextInput);;
    Reset(Rating);;
    Reset(Dropdown)

     Best Regards,

    Bof
