How to update value from power app canva to sharepoint list using power flow

Hi,

As far as I know I can do this using Patch function, but this time I would like to know how we can achieve the same thing by using only power flow? For example I want to store the 'DataCardValue1'from power apps to sharepoint list column called "Invent_Title" using only power flow. Thank you in advance!

    Hi @Durrani ,

    We can add some parameters from the PowerApps trigger.

    Then when using the button, we can use the formula like this

    Flow.run(DataCardValue1.Text,DataCardValue2.Text...)

    Best Regards,

    Thank you for your response!

    I tried to put the datacardvalue2 In the formula but it didn't work. Apart from text, I am also add document function in that so that if the respondent upload the document, it will share file path to the document. Which part that I need to change?

     ForAll(
        Files.Attachments As Document,
        Upload.Run(DataCardValue2.Text
            {
                contentBytes: Document.Value,
                name: Document.Name & "_" & "ddMMyyhhmmss" & ".pdf"
            }
        )
    );

    Hi @Durrani ,

    Do you mean that you also upload the documents as the attachment for an item?

    In flow, we use 'Add attachment' action to upload files.

    Besides, please clarify which columns' values do you want to update?

    And what's Files.Attachments? A fileAttachment control? Were the files manually uploaded by the user?

    Best Regard,

    Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,

    for the steps, I basically follow from this website.

    Regarding your question, I want to update at column "Invent_Title" from "DatacardValue2"

    Durrani_0-1713930451562.png

    It is the 5th Column next to attachments

    Regarding Files.Attachments , yes the user manually upload files where it will be updated at sharepoint also.

    Usually for text, I use the patch function where all the text will be updated to the SL, but I cant find a way to do the same with attachments. So I use Power Flow to be able to update the attachments in SL. But when I use patch function for text and power flow for attachments to update SL, it will create two separate Row, One for the attachments, one is the patch.

    Right now I am trying to find a way to update text to sharepoint list using power flow and make sure the input text and the uploaded file will be in the same row. Is there any way that I can navigate this?

    Hi @Durrani ,

    Please pass the ID when using patch function.

    We can create a global variable to get the ID when using patch function.

    Sample:

    Set(varID, Patch(...).ID )

    Now create a new parameter from powerapps trigger for passing the ID from canvas app.

    Why use Power Automate flow, if you can do it with Canvas Apps?

    Alright thank you! But is there any changes that I need to add at the code here? Because the error said invalid number of arguments: Received 1 but expected 2? Thank you!

     ForAll(
        Files.Attachments As Document,
        Upload.Run(

            {
                contentBytes: Document.Value,
                name: Document.Name & "_" & "ddMMyyhhmmss" & ".pdf"
            }
        )
    );

    Oh I see. How do we able to achieve that?

    Hi @Durrani ,

    Pass the 'varID' to the flow. It should be the second parameter defined in flow trigger.

    Best Regards,

    Wearsky
