I built an app that logs patient stats for healthcare clinic. Initially I repurposed the "Title" field as the username of the person submitting the stats but that led to some issues. I want to change the title field to a drop down of names and completely remove the title field. Initially I did this by setting the items property.. but when they go back in to edit it auto defaults to the first item on the list each time. I personally would just like to remove the Title field completely. I tried doing this by following a guide on setting the title field to be optional.. but every time I try to submit a new record in the powerapps it's still telling me that the field is required. How can I make the title field optional? Or, if I can't (because i keep seeing mixed answers on whether this is possible or not) how do I hide it from the canvas app and just have it generate random data? I found someone saying they use GUID() but I'm not sure where to put that? Can I have it just generate the GUID() but hide it in the canvas?I'm very new to powerapps.

Go to the SP list and in the top right click the cog/settings wheel and choose list settings. Once that loads click on the Title column name under the columns section. Under the Description input box you will see a line that says "Require that this column contains information:" select no then scroll down and and hit ok on the bottom right side of the screen. Your field will now be optional.

Pertain to me but how do I give it a default random value? Do I just set the Default to guid() and hide the visibility?
And why do people still tell me, like the poster above, that its possible to unrequire/hide the title field? I think that's why I find this confusing. I see so many posts saying you can just unrequire it but that's not even an option with the titlefield. I have to turn on some manage content types to make it optional and even then it doesn't work.
When I make a new SP list the literaly first thing I do is make the title field not required, edit the default view to hide title and show ID. ID is #11 and I move it to #1 then save. This gives me a blank list with the SPID as the only column and also with no required columns. Fresh start. Are you using SP Online?
