Offline Powerapps on Windows 11 with data on device.

I am trying to create a PowerApp that would work offline for order taking.

I think I can figure out the order form entry process and allowing it to sync when there is internet.

Is it possible to have a Catalog saved on the device that the PowerApp can access?

The catalog has about 3000 items. I would like to have an image for each item but if that is not possible it's not a deal breaker.

If the images in the catalog can not be incorporated I could have a split screen with a PDF catalog beside the PowerApp but I would prefer to have everything in 1 app.

Thanks.

    @rashantha

Offline canvas app are really only for small applications. 3000 records each with an image would be too large, I think. From the MS Learn page

You'll generally have 30-70 megabytes of available memory.

    and

Available memory can vary depending on the device, the operating system, the memory that Power Apps Mobile uses, and the complexity of the app in terms of screens and controls.

So, if you had 30MB (worse case) available, you'd have around 10KB/image and around 20-25KB/image for 70MB of free storage.

These are all a guide only and you'd need to field test your app to check.

Thanks for help. The app will run on a Surface, Windows 11 and not on mobile.

    Will that make any difference?

Not sure really, you'll need to test

    Hi @rashantha,

If you are using Dataverse as a data source, you can use the built-in offline solution for canvas apps in Preview.

It is fully integrated and does all the hard work for you. Note that it is not yet supporting Images.

Feel free to reach out to me if you are interested...

    Thank you
