HELP - Entering a row of data into excel online per item selected from combo box

Hi,

I am a teacher and new to PowerApps so sorry if this is a silly question. I have made a praise system for a school and am using excel online to store the inputted data based as its free to schools (I know there are better options).

However I have a combobox where teachers can select multiple students. They are fake names in the screenshot but it should help demonstrate what I am trying to achieve. I have managed to get it to store the data in excel by concatenating the table together so it becomes text in the output. However from an analysis point of view it would be loads better if I could get the system to add a row per student selected where all the other data is simply duplicated.

Can anybody give me some tips on how this can be achieved or if its possible at all.

Thanks

You won't be able to do this via SubmitForm.  That is only going to write the single record with multiple values in it.

You can control what you write via the Patch statement
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-patch

which you can connect to your Submit button instead of using the SubmitForm.  You'll need to wrap it in a ForAll statement in order to execute it multiple times.  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-forall

Take a look at this post which I believe is relevant to what you are trying to do:  https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Patch-Multiple-select-combobox-values-as-different-line-items-in/td-p/529327

Thanks so much for that advice. I have it working now.

Now this is working I have ran into another problem but its related. A copy of my source data is listed below. I use the form to populate the output table below. The combo box lists all of the students by name which allows for easy and multiple selection. However I ideally want to also pass over the UPN of the student into the output table as thats the truly unique identifier. I don't want the user to select these though as they won't know them. Is there a way to output the UPNS as well as part of my patch statement based on which students were selected in the combobox?

    Thanks again for the help!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I have been out of pocket the last few days.

Shane Young has a really good video on this topic - better than I can explain it.  In it he talks about setting up combo boxes to display one thing and return another.  The link is
