Log Working Hours,

ReportReport
Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello Flow Team Users 🙂

I am in the middle of trying to figure out how can i automatically track working hours for my operation.

We are in need of monitoring everything ( Login time, Breaks, Lunch, Log outTime) I thought i could have them log in to a sharepoint and track that time, but here is the catch, i want to pull the Created  time that the Sharepoint automatically records (if i extract what they log, how do i know its true, Right!) And be able to export the data from sharepoint to Excel using flow, so i can consolidate the info into 1 Excel Document. The problem is, if they dont come in to work. The other alternative i saw was to use one of the Work hours templates that i found in flow, but the problem is that i dont see how i can go into details with it, since its seems i can only track like the Shift time (Total), i need a breakdown of that, so i can see login time (ex: 6AM, 7PM) Break total time ( Ex: 30 minutes) Lunch total time (Ex: 1 hour) and any aother auxilary usage that i need to report.

Any thoughts on this? if i am not able to use Flow with it, how can i automate this process, so i can pull a consolidated Report with all the data?

    Hi @Anonymous,

Could you provide more information about what you need Flow to do in your project?

It seems that in your project, what FLOW can do is to get the data from the SharePoint list and then import it into the Excel file.

Please provide more details of the Flow you want to create and we would provide some proper suggestion for you.

    Best Regards,

    Barry

Correct, that's what flow would do. get the info from Sharepoint and import it to Excel.

What i dont know is, how can i specify what data to import from each field that the sharepoint will save to excel.

Would i have to do a list on the sharepoint of the data that will be imported?

The other thing i saw was the templates to track working hours, which are in this link https://us.flow.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/

But how would i customized it, so i can put some sort of parameter and save the time and date of the input information.

    Hi @Anonymous,

You could create an Excel table that contains the same fields as the SharePoint list.

Configure Get items to get all the List items, and use Apply_to_each to traverse Get items-Value.

Configure Insert row and configure the corresponding field in the list item into the corresponding field of the Excel table.
