Lookup on edit form doesn't calculate/shows blank

I have set the default value of a text input on a form to

LookUp(time_list,trvl_time=trvl_combo.Selected.trvl_time,trvl_mins)

The source is a sharepoint list, which holds a column for times in hh:mm and another for the corresponding minutes, this lookup populates the text box correctly when the form is set to FormMode.New when a selection is made on the combo box.

The problem is when the Form is set to FormMode.Edit the text input appears blank unless a selection is made in the combobox.

Various other fields populate correctly, even other lookups but these do not rely on a combobox, so I'm assuming that's the issue?

The default of the card the input is on is set to ThisItem.ot_trvl_min, this is the column on another sharepoint list where the value will be updated to.

Is anyone able to advise how to get this text box to populate on the edit form without having to make a selection in the combobox?

    Hi @IainHogg

    You can modify the Default property of the text input to check the form mode and then decide what value to display.

    If(
    FormName.Mode = FormMode.New,
    LookUp(time_list, trvl_time = trvl_combo.Selected.trvl_time).trvl_mins,
    Parent.Default
    )

    Thanks!

    Unfortunately I also need the text input to update if a different selection is made in the combobox, so setting it to Parent.Default doesn't work. I should have been clearer about that in my original post sorry.

    I found a solution.

    If(LookUp(time_list,trvl_time=trvl_combo.Selected.trvl_time,trvl_mins)=Blank(),Parent.Default,LookUp(time_list,trvl_time=trvl_combo.Selected.trvl_time,trvl_mins))

    I can't say for sure why that works but I assume it is because combobox.Selected.fieldname had to be used instead of Combobox.Selected.Value therefore the default of the combobox referenced is displaying from a different column in a different datasource and the lookup doesn't work as a result.

    @Rajkumar_404 thanks for your help, your suggestion set me on a path that eventually led me to this solution
