Radio Buttons - Choices - Variables

Hi all,

I have 3 questions that will need to be answered.

Depending the the selection I need a pop-up to appear.

What I need is on select of the Submit Button:

  1. If Radio 1 = No & Radio 2 = No & Radio 3 = Yes. Then the error pop up will appear.
  2. If Radio 1 = No & Radio 2 = Yes & Radio 3 = Yes. Then the error pop up will appear.
  3. If Radio 1 = No & Radio 2 = Yes & Radio 3 = No. Then the error pop up will appear.
  4. If Radio 1 = No & Radio 2 = No & Radio 3 = No. Then the error pop up will NOT appear
  5. If Radio 1 = Yes & Radio 2 = No & Radio 3 = Yes. Then the error pop up will NOT appear
  6. If Radio 1 = Yes & Radio 2 = No & Radio 3 = No. Then the error pop up will appear.
  7. If Radio 1 = Yes & Radio 2 = Yes & Radio 3 = Yes. Then the error pop up will appear.

If there is a better way to do this I am happy to change, use different inputs or change the table column type to text rather than choice options.

Instead of using the submit button, I could use the on selection function of the radio buttons?

    Hi carrie-anne27,

    Although this is somewhat old post but this may help others in future. IMO you may try the Switch function to achieve your goal.

    Power Apps if/switch function

    I have used multiple conditions in Switch and it works fine.

    Cheers..

    Hi @ozzie14 ,

    Can you give me an example? I can't figure out how to write it 🙂

    I found a more interesting solution to your issue. Its easier and quite a fun playing with programming logic...

    Here are examples of Error Messages for different user response..

    gbu.png

    Simply embed your code in 'Visible' property of the Warning Text boxes...

    For the first warning I used:

    If((Radio_Q1.Selected.Value = "Yes" && Radio_Q2.Selected.Value = "Yes"), true, false)

     The second warning:

    If((Radio_Q1.Selected.Value = "No" && Radio_Q2.Selected.Value = "No" && Radio_Q3.Selected.Value = "No"), true, false)

    May not be exactly your scenario but I hope you have already got the clue...

    Like always, there will be several methods to resolve any issue.. IMO this is the simplest one...

    Cheers..

    Ozzie

    @carrie-anne27 - I would approach he problem this way:

    Insert a Button control into your app. Let's assume the name of the Button is "Button1".

    On the OnSelect property, enter:

    UpdateContext(

    {ctx_pop_up_visible:

    Radio1.Selected.Value = 'Minor Works - like for like (New Projects)'.No &&
    Radio2.Selected.Value = 'Your Second Yes No Column (New Projects)'.No &&
    Radio3.Selected.Value = 'Your Third Yes No Column (New Projects)'.No

    ||

    Radio1.Selected.Value = 'Minor Works - like for like (New Projects)'.Yes &&
    Radio2.Selected.Value = 'Your Second Yes No Column (New Projects)'.No &&
    Radio3.Selected.Value = 'Your Third Yes No Column (New Projects)'.Yes

    }

    )

    On the OnChange property and OnSelect property for each Radio control, enter:

    Select(Button1)

    On the OnVisible property of your Screen, enter:

    UpdateContext({ctx_pop_up_visible: true})

    On the Visible property of your PopUp, enter:

    !ctx_pop_up_visible

    Then hide Button1 prior to releasing your app into production.
