VARIABLE WITH TODAY DATE

Hi I am trying to create a variable with today date, this is my formula:

Set(varCurrentDate,Date(Year(Today()),Month(Today()),1)), and when selecting the var to see what has inside it says "varCurrentDate = Blank" nothing is being stored, I am following the next video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAEZ4m-EjDA.

Note: I have noticed that I have to add ".Value" to a lot of elements when other people doesn't have to, I don't know why or if this is affecting somehow. I have tried adding .Value and .DateValue but nothing is working.

My calendar is getting blank whenever I try to use the variable.

try:

Set(varToday, Now())

you can display it in different formats using:

Text(varToday, "dd/mm/yy")
