Form Help

I’m trying to create a workflow in PowerApps where a user can fill out a form and another user, the reviewer, will review the form and either mark it complete or return to the user for updates. There are 4 statues the form can be in: Yet to be started, Draft, Returned, and Complete.  The form also consists of prefilled data which should be view only and editable data depending on who the user filling out the form is.

What I’m trying to accomplish is if the form field is prepopulated with data, make it view only to the user no matter what the status of the form is. (Yet to be started, Draft, or Returned). If form field did not have prefilled data, let the user edit. The problem I’m coming across is when the form is returned back to the user for updates, the form becomes view only instead of editable for those questions the user answered.

Thank you!

    @KJ5 ,

    What is the DefaultMode of the Form ?

    When I click on the form, the DefaultMode is blank. I've been updating the display mode within each form question. Form questions that are always prefilled, I made displayMode.View. The form questions that may need a response depending on user, I made displayMode.Edit.

    @KJ5 ,

    OK I will ask the question another way - what code do you use to set the Mode of the Form and where do you use it ? You must be setting it to View Mode somewhere.

    In DisplayMode I have:

    If((User().Email = ThisItem.UserEmail && (IsBlank(ThisItem.Question4)) || (User().Email = ThisItem.UserEmail && ThisItem.‘Question4 Update' = "True")),

    DisplayMode.Edit,

    If(User().Email = ThisItem.ReviewerEmail,

    DisplayMode.Disabled,

    DisplayMode.View))

    I currently have a power automate flow that checks to see if question 4’s answer has been updated. If yes, the flow adds the word true to the Question4 Update column in my SharePoint List. However, I’ve noticed sometimes there is a delay with the flow, so when the user saves as draft and clicks back into the form, the question is now view only because the flow hasn’t fully processed.

    Is there a better way to do this?

    @KJ5 ,
    That is the missing piece of information - you have a Flow running that affects the Mode when it is finished. Yes, there will be a delay running the Flow. Maybe a Timer for a couple of seconds disabling the button the user returns with.
