Invitations to my Portal are not being received.

Hi,

I am in a trial environment and have set up a portal that I want to invite others to in order to review before I transfer to a production environment. I have disabled the ability to register on the portal as I want it to be invite only, therefore, it's important to be able to send out invite codes. However, when I follow the steps to send out invitations, they are not being received. All the details are correct and I am following each step laid out by Microsoft in order to send the invitations but no one has received one.

If anyone has any thoughts or recommendations as to where I'm going wrong it would be much appreciated.

Thank you!!

Hi, a few things to check:

    • can you check in the "e-mail messages" entity to see if the e-mail was created/sent
    • have you made changes to the Send Invitation workflow to add your own text?
    • also mailbox you want to send it from?
    • Have you enabled E-mail integration as well?

    Hi Oliver,

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it!!

    - When I go on 'Invitations' in the portal management app they all have a 'sent' status. When I select the 'email message' on entity in power apps, it does not show me any email status. Is 'email message entity' in the portal management app for the portal?

    - I have made changes to workflow to add my own text

    - I have selected a mailbox. However when I go in 'Active Mailbox' in Dynamics 365 my email address failed to be 'test and enabled' as I am not a global administrator.

    - I am not sure if I have enabled it. However, when I select 'email a link', my email works fine and recipients receive the email with no problems.

Does this mean my email is not enabled

Is there another way to send invite codes?

    Thank you!!

    Hi @Anonymous

yes you need to enable e-mail integration in your environment to send invitation

this is the only OOB way to get it working, you could replicate the actions from the "Send Invitation" workflow into a Power Automate, but you would have to do that yourself unfortunately
