Upload file to Dataverse/D365 table using SharePoint Document Management

Hi All,

We are using SharePoint document management for the Opportunity table in D365, meaning all Files uploaded against this record are stored on SharePoint. This is working well when manually creating and uploading files.

I would like to be able to upload files via Power Automate. How would I do this?

The 'Upload a file or an image' action doesn't have SharePoint/Documents listed as a column name.

How do I programmatically upload/create new files for records which are using SharePoint Document Management?

Thanks everyone.

Upload file or Image is working on File or Image fields and will not work for your scenario.

So what I suggest is to follow this article by @LinnZawWin

https://linnzawwin.blogspot.com/2021/08/automatically-create-sharepoint.html to create the document location for the record opportunity record once it is created and then save the document location to a new field on the Opportunity record and then you can use this to upload the document opportunity and save the Relative URL to the opportunity record , then on whatever trigger you need to upload the document, you have another flow that gets the document location from the opportunity that you have saved in the first flow and use the Create File Action from SharePoint to upload something by concatenating the Absolute URL to the Relative URL on the record.

    Hope this makes sense!

You can check this blog post starting from step 4 to step 6. The process involves getting the existing SharePoint Document Location (and create one if there is none) and upload the file to the SharePoint folder.
