Order of fields FLOW >> Word Template?

Hi

I have a lot of text boxes which I need to populate into a Word template using flow. How does one know the order of the fields required? I normally hover over the flow to show the various fields required in the Word template, but I have 37 and I can only hover over 23 of them! It seems that the order of the text fields shown on the Word template in Flow doesn't match the order of the required fields when viewing the .RUN function in PowerApps?

Can someone tell me where I can see all required fields in PowerApps and their order?

Many thanks!

Not quite a Power Apps solution here, but I would edit the Template to rename the fields in that document to give you an idea of what they are and which order - e.g. f1_header, f2_title... etc.

I don't think there is another way to do this.  Also, it's always good practice to name things in a way that you know what they are.

The issue is that the order that the fields appear in the flow don’t match the order that they appear in Powerapps so how can you correctly map them? There appears to be no way of seeing all of the fields inside the flow within Powerapps without hovering over it each time? I have shortened the names so that I can see more when I hover over but this isn’t satisfactory.

Without seeing your flow and document it's difficult to comment further, and I may be misunderstanding something.

However, if the flow is set up right, and assuming you're using the Populate a Word template step it doesn't actually matter what order they are in as long as they are all represented - they are filled based on their ID, not the physical position in the document.

Interesting!! So how does the template ‘know’ which object in the PowerApp to map to the correct field on the Word document?

For example - say I have a Word template with 5 fields and each one in the Flow is set to ‘Ask in Powerapps’ how does Powerapps know to map the correct text box or datepicker for example in Powerapps to the correct Word field?

Hi - can you show me your flow please?

    Will do - thanks.

The odd thing is that I’ve just found that if you go in and add a few more ‘ask in Powerapps’ they appear in the correct order on Powerapps?

That's what I was looking to see if you had done - it creates the dynamic content for each field when you hit "ask in powerapps"

Yes that happens. What I can’t understand though is that the initial order of the fields doesn’t appear to match the order of the required fields in the flow.run in Powerapps.
