No difference between the new mode and the edit mode?

Hello All,

Could you do me a favor?

I created a customized form (not a canvas one). When I initially created it, I used the edit mode to allow people to come back and edit the existing data.

However, the notification message didn't appear after submitting because the form closed when the save button was pressed. To address this, I added a timer that included the duration and requestHide.

However, for some reason, in the edit mode, the form was not closing. So, I switched from the edit mode to the new mode.

Functionally, they are the same, and I can still edit the existing data in the New mode. What is the difference between the new mode and the edit mode?

    Hi @happyyear ,

    You are referring to the DefaultMode of the Form, which is only relevant if you do not tell it to do something else. In your case with an Integrated Form, OnNew, OnEdit and OnView sets the form in the required mode, so the Default never really comes into it. The function OnSave controls what the form does when submitted, however I can tell you from experience modifying things in the integrated controls do not always have the expected results.

    @WarrenBelz

    Thank you for your help. Could you please explain what it mean specifically? "if you do not tell it to do something else".

    Also, does that mean(overall), in the default mode, there is no difference between the edit and the new? (Due to the Sharepointintegration -OnNew, OnEdit and OnView). Did I understand correctly?

    @happyyear ,

    Yes - once Power Apps tells it to change modes, it is then in that mode and the default setting has no bearing.
