I have an app that is set to display the users name and base the gallery options on who is logged in. It's worked fine until now that I have a person who has an apostrophe in her last name. It's O'Quinn and in sharepoint it looks like O'Quinn so the gallery will not display any results. How do I fix this??

If you would like to resolve this issue permanently so this list can be used as a main data source of the App elsewhere, you need to figure out why apostrophes are replaced by the an HTML number "'". So, is this list generated by importing from other sources? Have you tried to manually typing in in the list and check if apostrophe still replaces automatically? In addition, you can try and create a new single line of text column, typing in the apostrophe and see if there is any difference. These will help you find out if there are special settings of this list.

Creating a new line didn't work. Manually typing in doesn't fix it. I did import the file from excel.

I am not sure if this helps, but I have given up on that one - I now have OSullivan and ONeill on staff and they have simply got used to it. It also causes problems beyond what you have.
As much as OQuinn and ONeil would be fine personally, the conflict is that the email system won't recognize it without the apostrophe. 😞
