SharePoint List Lookup Value Only Updating When Saving in PowerApps

Hi,

I have a SharePoint list that has a look up and a related lookup from another SharePoint list.

In the PowerApps form when I change the lookup I expected the related lookup to automatically update, it only updates after the form is saved, making the form look lime it has the wrong value (until saved). Noticed that if you enter data into SharePoint list direct that this behaviours is the same (value appears when saved).

Is there a workaround for the value to the visible in PowerApps before the user saves the form?

    Hi @andy1982 ,

    Yes this is possible.

    Can you please share a screenshot of your form that shows which datacard is changed and which should be then updating accordingly?

    Also, please share how both columns are related.

    @BCBuizer

    Thanks for quick reply, added a PDF with info requested, hopefully it makes sense.

    The columns are related as each session has a product assigned in a SharePoint list.

    Appreciate expert views!

    Hi @andy1982 ,

    Thanks for clarifying. As a workaround I would suggest to change the Default(SelectedItems) property of the control that shows the Product to refer the Sessions data source (or whatever the name of the parent column for the 'Session Name' column is) directly with a LookUp function, based on the selected value in the Session Name combo box.

    Like that it will display the correct value immediately whilst the data source will be updated only after the form has been submitted.

    @BCBuizer  Sorry for late response, thank you for answer. This resolved issue as you said and allows me to use value in form to perform some logic.

    Massive help!
