Power Apps built with Copilot

Hello,

Can anybody clarify the license requirements for Power Apps / Flows / etc built using Copilot?

I assume the Maker will require the $30 license. However, do all users of the app also require the $30 Copilot license?

Thanks,

    Hi @kelly_b

Basing my reply on: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-copilot/how-to-prepare-for-microsoft-365-copilo... "Copilot users must have either a Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 license [1] and an Azure Active Directory account". On top of that, users must be assigned a "Microsoft 365 Copilot license using the Microsoft 365 admin center (under Billing > Licenses)" So, it's an add-on license, but you can only add it on to E3 or E5.

At the bottom of that link, just check the footnotes.

    Footnotes:
[1] For small and medium business (SMB) customers, Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Business Premium will be eligible base licenses.

So it seems you will be able to add Copilot to both Business Premium or Business Standard so long as you fall under their definiton of "Small or Medium Business" --> defined as businesses with less than 500 employees or having up to 250 PCs.

    @SpongYe

    Thanks for your quick response!

Sorry I'm not sure I was clear - by users, I mean somebody who consumes a Power App which was built using Copilot. So they are not building it but just using it.

    It's the same as Powerapps.

If you are a user or developer both need a license.

Ok thanks, but consumption of Power Apps atm in many cases is covered by an E3 license. Whereas with Copilot I am guessing that the user will need the add-on Copilot license too.

    Yes,

Microsoft 365 Copilot will be available for commercial customers for $30 per user per month for Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard and Business Premium customers when broadly available.

Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Business Premium are the entry-level licenses for Microsoft 365 Copilot. These licenses are available to small to medium organizations of up to 300 users. Your focus is on smb/enterprise tenants, meaning that the eligible licenses are Microsoft 365 E3 and E5.

    Hope this help.
