Dear friends, colleagues,

A client of mine is still working on premise (8.2), so please forgive me if this topic shouldn't be here, I couldn't find an active 'on premise'-forum.

The client has copied his production database to acceptance and development (hashing all personal stuff etcetera, so let's leave it there). After the copy, the reports in ACC and DEV seized to function. Report Server Service log shows:
"A Call to SSPI failed" and "The target principal name is incorrect"

Sounds like a clear message, but the same SPN's are used for all environments (...) and the settings seem to be correct. The db service account has spn settings to all SQL servers.

What I was wondering, what's in the message? What exactly is this target principal name?

This issue is driving me rather crazy, knowing that (also in this case) the solution is just a few mouse clicks and button presses away.

Any ideas?
