Grant access to an item or a folder error "Access is denied" or "Patch error : You don't have permissions to edit this row."

Hi all,

 

I am developing a custom form of SharepointList and  created a flow of " Grant access to an item or a folder".

I confirmed one test user "Testo *****" are granted as "can edit".

When I tried to open this item on the second PC as test user, the error message appears "Access is denied".

I ignored this error message and tried to procced, the next error message appears "Patch error : You don't have permissions to edit this row."

 

Is there anyone faced the similar error and how did you solve it?

    Hi @Glueck 

     

    To resolve this issue, you should check your permissions to make sure that you have the necessary rights to grant access to the item or folder. If you do not have the required permissions, you will need to contact an administrator or someone with higher permissions to grant access.

    thank you for your advice! Seems I might have misunderstood the logic.

     

    I just wanted to prevent the users from reading/editing other items, therefore I set as below.

    When I amended the setting of Item level permissions to "Read all items" and "Create and edit all items", the error of "Patch error: You don't have permissions to edit this row" is solved.

    I confirmed the flow "stop sharing an item or file"&"Grant access to item or folder" work enough to prevent users to read/edit other items.
