Hello,
I have an application that collect the location of the user and send him a notification if he is in a certain place. However, my app works only if it's open. Is it possible to run the application in the background?

Do you want to run a canvas app in the background?

Running a canvas app in the background is not supported within PowerApps currently, if you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

Is there any other way to keep an application running? Or another approach that I can use?
Actually, when my app is open, it collect the location of the user and send him a push notification if he is in a predefined area. (I would like it to does the same even if it's not opened)
