We have a local API that is not exposed to the internet.. so my question if we can call this API using PowerAutomate and then send the API result to SharePoint online?

Thanks

    Hi @johnjohn123 ,

There are few options depending on your network infrastructure:

    1) Use the on premise data gateway here.  It only works with selected connectors and for your case, probably the "Http with Azure AD" connector.

    2) If your organisation uses Azure and has ExpressRoute or a Virtual Network VPN setup, you can deploy a Logic App (standard version) or Azure Function (premium tier) which has vNet integration.  This allows you to then call an on premise endpoint just as it would be on the network.  This will incur a larger cost though due to the requirement for an app service plan.

    3) Your IT department could setup a reverse proxy which will then forward requests to an internal endpoint.

Just to expand on what @eric-cheng says, a good way to call a local REST based API is to install the on premises gateway and to create a custom connector that calls your local API. For the address of your service, you can specify an internal address or an IP address. The key thing here would be click the 'connect via on-premises data gateway' option when you create your custom connector.
