Update main list from a secondary list.

I am trying to accomplish the following if possible.

I have a main list that different departments use and update. (real estate)

I want to add a second list "New Sale" to use to collect data and track new sales

I want to be able to access and update the data fields from the main list

Example -

Create a new sale using the new sale list.

New sale list will create sale date and sale ID.

I need to pull in the Property info and the property info fields that need to be filled out at the new sale, ( all required fields exists in the main list) from the Main list into the news sale form to edit.

At submit of the new sale - a record is created in the new sale form and all the fields are updated in the main list.

Is this possible? If yes how do I build the form?

Thanks

Max

    Hi MaxTampa,

We could only set one data source for a Form. If you want to submit data to both two data sources, please consider to use both SubmitForm function and Patch function.

I have set the data source of the EditForm control as ChildList, but I also want to save data back to ParentList.

So I configure the button’s OnSelect property as SubmitForm(Form1);Patch(ParentList,Defaults(ParentList),{Title:TextInput1.Text}).

Then when I click the button, I could save data to both ParentList and ChildList.

Hope this could be a reference for you.

    Best regards,
