Issues when PowerApps is trying to connect to SharePoint via ClearCollect

Hello everyone,

I need some help/clarification regarding this issue I've been experiencing since 3 days ago. So on Saturday, 24 June 2023 my colleagues reported that my PowerApps suddenly keeps being stuck on the loading screen "Getting Data" and won't proceed to the main screen. I've just noticed this problem yesterday and my SharePoint homepage was also acting weird that morning (apps not showing up, error loading some pages, et cetera). Upon further inspection, it seems like for some reason my PowerApps is having trouble running the formula "concurrent" and "clearcollect" to collect some data from our SharePoint. I've tried to reduce the amount of data to be retrieved, and the time it takes is really abnormal which is 3 minutes to only gather 200 records and will time out if I try to gather >1500 records (previously the app is working fine to gather 12000 records in only several seconds). I haven't made any changes to the app back to trigger this problem.

And then I've read that Microsoft has been experiencing issues since 24 June 2023 for several 365 services due to performance issues but I'm not sure if it that's the case for me. Does anyone know or also experience the issue for any connection to their SharePoint/PowerApps? Will appreciate any info/insights regarding this problem. I'm very sorry I can't post any screenshots because my working laptop forbids me from doing so.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Bryan

    Hi @Bryan-Bryan1 ,

    I know an obvious question, but have you tried running the ClearCollect outside the Concurrent ?

    Hi @WarrenBelz ,

    Yes I've tried the ClearCollect outside the Concurrent and the issue still persists. The perfomance suddenly becomes very slow since Saturday 24 June 2023 and often times out. I don't know if the incident Microsoft reported several days ago may have an effect on this one.

    Regards,

    Bryan

    Hi @Bryan-Bryan1 ,

    It certainly should not be the case on a small collection - what is your ClearCollect code ?

    Hi @WarrenBelz ,

    For checking the connection, I simply use this formula within a single button:
    ClearCollect(colClaris10,Filter('CLARIS Database','Batch ID'>=11000 And 'Batch ID'<12000))

    Even with this formula, I'm still getting "Error when retrieving data from network" even though our sharepoint is working fine right now.

    HI @Bryan-Bryan1 ,

    Try indexing 'Batch ID' in SharePoint

    Having same issue. My applications today/yesterday started to act abnormal. Main problem with connector with SharePoint. No Idea I guess it's global and needs to wait out.

    @flowslcaplikas ,

    I am having issues with SharePoint views refreshing today. If changes done directly in SharePoint, seems to be a caching issue and changes not reflected in SP, but data in Power Apps is fine and reflects changes.

    hi @WarrenBelz ,

    yeah I'll try to do that when our IT can't solve the problem. Seems like Sharepoint is having performance issues when querying huge data since Saturday, might be related to the DDOS attack/bugs from Microsoft side somehow.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi @flowslcaplikas ,

    Thanks for your info. Yeah, PowerApps Sharepoint connector has been acting weird since Saturday 24 June 2023. Even sometimes the Sharepoint Homepage bugs out saying "Something's not right. The page you requested is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience, please check back in a few minutes".

    Really weird for them for not fixing it after several days, including Outlook/Teams problems. Hope it works out for all of us in the next couple of hours haha....
