Wait for an Approval Failing

I have a flow which used switch to define the path by which the flow will travel. See Below:

When it gets to the Condition 4, the flow fails. See image below:

I thought it might be due to a bad connection, so I deleted the existing connection in the flow and created new ones, but the failure persist. The error states ApprovalSubcriptionNotAllowed, but in the same flow I have had sucess using one of the alternate cases in the switch.

The only other recourse I have yet to try is to delete my connection to approvals at the account level and try again. Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on?

Can you try using Start and wait for approval action instead and let me know the results.

Yeah, it seems the Wait for an Approval action will fail if the approval has already been completed by the time the flow gets to the Wait... action. I was updating a SharePoint list in between the Start... and Wait... actions and the Update Item action occasionally takes longer than expected (usually only a second or two but I've seen 5 min once -- throttling from Microsoft?) so that the approval has already been completed.
