Questions to ask to determine licensing needs

What kinds of questions do you ask when people want to onboard to Power Platform, to help determine what kind of licensing they will need?

Here's my starting point:
-Connectors (std/prem)

-Apps or Automate (w/wo RPA)

-If RPA Attended/Unattended

-DB/File capacity

-Team composition

-ALM needs

    Hello @byrnep

Normally I try to get the following information

    • Is there thirdparty tool to consume?
      • Identify which and check for the connectors
    • Will this apps need to have security roles to determine which action can the user perform in the Database?
    • Check if the app have hard things to process like a big PDF report. This help identify if you have to scalate your app using Azure for example.
    • Will your app use PCF? If yes, will this PCF consume any API Service?
    • Have the solution automated flows with premium connectors?

    PCF == Powerapps Component Framework

This basically is for Pro developers who have knowledge with some Javascript framework like React.

PCF helps to achieve more brining the Power Apps app to the next level.

Will depends on if this PCF consume an external service. So if not consume any service then will be Standard but if yes then the app will be premium.

    Hi @byrnep ,

when people onbaoard to power platform we normally ask the below questions,

    2. Is your business scattered under same tenant or multiple tenant?

    3. How many Apps and what kind of apps are you looking for - Single App or Unlimited Apps?

    4. Does your use case involve email requirements ?

    5. What is your expected Database - Sharepoint list/DataVerse/External Data Sources?

    6. what is your current environment?? Is there any data migration involved ?

    7. How many users ?

    8. Do you needs Apps in Microsoft Teams?

    9. Do you have existing use cases that involves 3rd party APIs.

    10. What is the volume of transactions you anticipate?

    11. How many environments would you need - dev/test/UAT/Prod... etc.

The questions are not limited to this.. There could be even more depending on the customer requirement.
