My problem is simple to describe: I have several tables/views in an On-premises Oracle database and I would like to have these synced to Office 365 Lists so that staff can view/sort/filter the data in Teams.
I am trying to understand the best (simplest) strategic technical approach to this problem taking into account licensing. All users have Business Premium Licences, but as yet we have no developer licenses for Power Apps, Premium Connectors etc. I am not a full time developer - more like enthusiastic scripter.
I can easily do one time imports to Lists from Excel but then there is no obvious way how to periodically update the list.
The data can be Read-only in the list and probably needs to synchronise only once a day, although more frequently would be better. The tables are not large, several hundred rows at most.
To date I have successfully set up an On Premises Gateway and have this visible to me as a Gateway in my default environment. (does OPG require a licence?).
I have made a Connection based on this gateway but this is "Premium" connector. I guess I am blocked on this until I have a standalone Power Apps license?
A year or so ago I was able to create a Table in my Dataverse that is synchronising successfully with oracle, but the Power Apps interface has changed and this is no longer possible it seems, but I am unclear whether this is a technical issue or a licensing issue.
My assumption has been that the answer lies somewhere in Power Apps with a Table, but it is the necessary combination of licenses, environments, dataverses and connectors that is confusing. Ideally I am after something simple that that can be achieved without coding.
Where to start? What license should I start with? Might there even be an entirely different route than Power Apps? Any pointers gratefully received. I do not need the fine detail!
Thanks.
