VMware Client --> RDP --> IE Browser

Good day

 

I wanted to automate the following process:

 

1. connect to a VM via VMWare client.
2. connect to a Windows server via RDP
3. open IE and log in to a web page

 

Logging in and via RDP to the server as well as opening IE worked. But logging into the browser (web page) does not work. Can't create EU items from the browser.

 

Is it possible that this is not possible because of the RDP connection?

    Yes, anything on Citrix or rdp cannot spy/detect the UI elements via PAD and will require automation based on Image recognition. Meaning, capture the images of the desired element and check using PAD if they match then proceed further. Not straightforward and not always reliable (based on experience on other RPA tools).

     

    Haven't tried it for Power Automate but take a look at the below.

    Since UI flows recorder cannot access the logical elements on Citrix during the recording, UI flows uses custom Azure AI technology (image recognition and text extraction from images using Tesseract OCR) to make automation possible.
