Issue with Copying/Creating Item in a list from another

I built a flow that creates an item in another list based on certain criteria.

Everything works fine except for a field that happens to be a choice field/column that can have multiple selections. Both lists the choices are identical.

In the flow when I select the field (in this case email groups) it then creates an "apply to each", when this happens I get duplicate items created that are identical except for the email group field.

When I tried switching the input to the entire array (saw this suggestion), it makes the flow fail. Here's what it looks like when it creates the multiple entries. Any help, most appreciated.

Hi @RonWeinstein

If you follow these steps in strict order, I almost guarantee that it will work 🙂

1. remove "email groups" from the apply to each

2. remove "email groups value" from the create item

3. drag the create item outside of the apply to each

4. delete the apply to each

5. make sure "email groups" is in the entire array view (currently not)

6. add the "email groups" dynamic value back into the Email groups parameter

7. run and save

I think the reason this mess has happened is because Email groups value is in the array email groups. If you try to add it to a parameter in an action, it will add an apply to each loop. You need to remove that loop, make sure you are in full array mode and insert the full array, i.e. Email Groups.

HI @RonWeinstein

Good job I had the disclaimer in there. I have set this up, switched to detail inputs, made a selection and then switched back to array view. I could see that the required format is an array such as:

[ { "Value": "Choice 1" }, { "Value": "Choice 3" } ]

We can create this easily with a select. Add a select, add email groups as from, "value" as the key and item()?['value'] as the key. Make sure the Choice field is in array mode and insert the output from the select.
