Hi, I have a question what is better to use when it comes to optimization, excel or SharePoint?
In addition to standard data such as text, number, date, I will want to store photos.

If you have access to SharePoint, you need to relegate Excel to what it does best - calculations, not trying to be used as a database (which it is not). Also SharePoint can store photos in many ways - I have a blog on this that may be useful.
