Browser Automation - Problems with dynamic Selector ID in ZENDESK Website

Hello together,

I need to automate the ticket closing of a zendesk website.

There are different fields to be filled, strangely the ID of the selector changes .

Website looks like this:

SwiPowE_ch_0-1682599213351.png

The selector from Power Automate Desktop is referring to this ID:

SwiPowE_ch_1-1682599247580.png

The Problem is, that the ID is changing from Ticket to Ticket:
1st Example:

SwiPowE_ch_2-1682599293731.png

2nd Example:

SwiPowE_ch_3-1682599314762.png

I played around a bit with the selectors but wasn't able to find a way to select the right field ...

Is there another way using other information from the control to select it? Class?? Or something else?

Anyone with an idea?

Thank you very much for your very aprreciated help!

Best

SwiPowE

    Hi @SwiPowE_ch

You can try these selectors instead of the one you are using

    1. looking at the pattern of id attribute, i could see the starting number is dynamic for both cases, so we can make selector like this

    input[id*="val-field_2.1.0--input"]

This will check for id attribute which contains value val-field_2.1.0--input.

    2. Looking at other attributes, i could see class attibute will be best fit if it is unique to find this UI Element

    input[class="sc-1gau0qu-2 gEiOHk StyledTextInput-sc-k12n8x-0 fGPLUj"]

Also you can check other attribute which seems to unqiue and static for that field

    3. using label as an relative selector

Since the input tag is just below label tag as seen in html, so we can use this selector

    label:contains("Kundennummer") + input

This will check for label which contains text Kundennummer and then find the input tag which is next to it.

    Hope this helps !

    Hi Nived

    thank you for your help:

    1. the first proposal didn't work as the there are several fields with different prefixes ... this didn't work.
    2. To consider a different attribute worked, thank you very much! This is the solution I am working with.
    3. This was something I considered but hadn't the syntax how to refer from the label name to the connected input. I tested it and it worked as well, this I will use in future.

Thank you for 5* help !

    Best

    Bernd
