Moving an app to different tenant with SP list as backend…

Hi,

I have a PowerApp which uses a SP list as a data source.

The app uses an Edit Form to create new list items and update existing items.

I need to distribute this app to 5 other tenants. Obviously this means a new list in a new SP site on each. Do I need to import the app in each tenant and then manually update the SP site, list and the Edit Form within the app…???

or is there a better way? FYI I don’t have access to the other tenants.

Thanks all!

    Hi @gmbeee ,

Unfortunately no - the connectors are "pointing" at the list they were connected to when last saved. So you have to delete those (important you do this first) and then re-connect to the new ones. If they all have the same names and fields, all the errors will go away. You do not need to access anything (you mentioned the Edit Form) in the app if this is the case.

I am not sure how you can do this without access to the Tenant.

    Hi @gmbeee

For the Sharepoint lists: Yes. Unfortunately you have to create them in each tenant. I use Excel to create the tables and then export them to Sharepoint so that there is consistency.

For the apps, You must have access to the tenants in order to import apps. You also might want to check out solutions and environment variables to make deploying a little easier to your 5 tenants.
