PowerApp Barcode Scanning books with Google Books API

Hello everyone,

I am trying to recreate this PowerApp Barcode Scanning books with Google Books API (youtube.com) with some features of my own but I am stuck and hopefully someone can help.

I have done everything up to the variable set at 5:10 in the video.

Once I click on the lookup button the variable returns boolean instead of record. The flow works normally and I can see the response and the book data in it but I came to a mind wall where I just cant figure out how to get that data back to powerapps.

Any help is appreciated!

Have you added the Response action as well at the end of your flow? If yes, then you store the information as a Record in a Variable as displayed in the video.
For this, you will use the following:
    Set(BookResult, GoogleBooksFromISBN.Run(txtBarcode.Text))
The above will store all the information returned by the flow in a Record Variable called BookResult.

If you want to reference a particular column / information, use the following instead:
    Set(BookResult, First(GoogleBooksFromISBN.Run(txtBarcode.Text).items).volumeInfo)
For the Trigger, I would suggest you use the Power Apps (V2) instead and for the Response action, use Respond to a Power App or flow. This video is really old so using a few older actions.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Nandit
