Check/uncheck other checkboxes

I have 5 checkboxes in Power Apps in which the data type of each column is in boolean (SharePoint):

  • All
  • EmpA
  • EmpB
  • EmpC
  • EmpD

What I would like to do is whenever I check the All, it would check the other checkboxes and when I uncheck, it will uncheck everything as well. Also, I'm currently using Patch function to update the value in SharePoint. Please help.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @biancadevera ,

    This can be achieved by setting the Default property of EmpA-D to All.Value. Like this, whenever you (un)check the All checkbox, the other 4 will take the new value of the All checkbox.

    Thanks, @BCBuizer . I have another question though. What if I only select specific checkboxes and patch the value to my SharePoint? How's the Default value would look like? Assuming I didn't check the All but the EmpA is checked. Wouldn't it show uncheck because of the All.Value in my Default?

    Hi @biancadevera ,

    That might indeed be the case, depending on the context of your app. However, I wasn't aware of the context, so perhaps you can share how these checkboxes are currently working?

    Hi @BCBuizer

    See my codes below:

    OnCheck

    Patch(db,
    LookUp(db,lblEmployees.Text = ThisItem.Employee.Value),
    {All: true});

    OnUncheck

    Patch(db,
    LookUp(db,lblEmployees.Text = ThisItem.Employee.Value),
    {All: false});

    EmpA

    OnCheck

    Patch(db,
    LookUp(db,lblEmployees.Text = ThisItem.Employee.Value),
    {EmpA: true});

    OnUncheck

    Patch(db,
    LookUp(db,lblEmployees.Text = ThisItem.Employee.Value),
    {EmpA: false});

    All - Default

    ThisItem.All

    EmpA - Default

    ThisItem.EmpA

    Please note that the columns for All, EmpA-D are in Boolean type.

    Hi @biancadevera ,

    In this case you may patch the colums in the datasource directly in the (un)check property of the All checkbox:

    OnCheck:

    Patch(db,
    LookUp(db,lblEmployees.Text = ThisItem.Employee.Value),
    {All: true,
    EmpA: true,
    EmpB: true,
    EmpC: true,
    EmpD: true
    });

    OnUnCheck:

    Patch(db,
    LookUp(db,lblEmployees.Text = ThisItem.Employee.Value),
    {All: false,
    EmpA: false,
    EmpB: false,
    EmpC: false,
    EmpD: false
    });

    There may not even be a need for the All column in your data source anymore.
