Check box behave as Radio Button

Hi there.

I would like to have a check box to behave like a radio button. I mean if I select in the checkbox "Yes"  the "No" and the "Pending" gets unselected.

Or, is there any easy way to uncheck a Radio button once is selected?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    You bet!

    Make sure the default values of all the checkboxes is false, then for checkbox for Yes, set the OnCheck action functions to:

        Reset(checkboxForNo); Reset(checkBoxForPending)

    Likewise, on the No checkbox, set the OnCheck action to:

        Reset(checkboxForYes); Reset(checkBoxForPending)

    And finally, for Pending, the OnCheck action to:

        Reset(checkboxForYes); Reset(checkBoxForNo)

    I hope this is helpful for you.

    Hey @RandyHayes Thank you very much for your super fast response. One silly question If I want to wire those 3 check boxes with a choice column in my Share point list? Could be possible?

    Many thanks

    🙂

    @sajarac

    Sure...but there are some questions:

    1) Are you wanting to Display the underlying record choice in the Checkboxes to start with (i.e. editing a record)?

    2) Is this in a Form?

    Sorry. Yes this is in a form and I would like the same behavior in edit mode or view mode.

    Yes, I got ya on the same behavior part (in regard to saving).  The bigger question is - are you expecting your checkbox to contain the selection of an underlying record when you edit it?  In other words, if you edit a record that has "No" checked when it was saved, are you expecting that it show the "No" checked when you edit the record?

    I guess so. To keep the user selection or the current value in the database.

    Sorry is this a pain? or should I add a control to reset the Radio button. Something like reset to blank ? Maybe

    @sajarac

    Well...you bring up a question I had from the start but didn't ask - Why a series of checkboxes instead of a Radio control that does this already??

    Because I was testing the form with the radio button and by mistake I have pressed the "Yes" option. And I don't want any option selected at that point. So I was trying to unselect my choice but it is not possible with a Radio button. then I decided to move to a check box which I can select or Unselect. But this is a pain trying to get the same behavior as the radio button

    @sajarac

    Yes, you can do this with a Radio control.

    One remaining question then would be:  If you edit a record and "Yes" is chosen and then "No" is selected as a change, would you want to revert the selection back to the original or just blank it out?

    Sorry Randy to be a pain with this. I guess that the only thing required is to add the possibility to clear the entire radio control if is needed. Regardless of the record value or user selection. Make sense?

    Sorry about all the mess
