Hi everyone,
I’m facing a persistent issue in Power Apps with both media controls and some gallery types, and I’d appreciate your help.
Whenever I add a media control to the canvas (for example an Image control or an Audio control), the control just shows “Please wait” and never finishes loading.
I also noticed a similar behavior with galleries:
When I add a Vertical gallery, Horizontal gallery, or Flexible height gallery, they get stuck on the same behavior as the media.
However, when I add a Blank gallery, it works fine.
Different environments
Tested in the Default environment
Tested in a Production environment
Same behavior in all of them
New blank apps
Created a brand-new blank canvas app with no custom logic
Added only one media control or one gallery → still stuck on “Please wait” (except for the Blank gallery, which works)
Different data sources
SharePoint
OneDrive
Dataverse
The issue happens regardless of which data source I use (or even with no data source connected)
Uploading media to the app
Uploaded images to Media in the app
Inserted those images onto the screen
As soon as I add them to the canvas, the control remains on “Please wait” and never shows the image
Important observation – background change
When I change the screen background, the media control suddenly works perfectly and the image appears as expected.
So the media itself is fine, but it seems something about the default state/layout makes it stay on “Please wait” until I change the background.
Has anyone faced a similar issue where media controls or Vertical/Horizontal/Flexible galleries are stuck on “Please wait”?
Could this be related to a platform bug, browser issue (although I've tried it on Chrome and Edge), or some screen/background/template setting?
Are there any diagnostics, logs, or specific settings I should check?
Is there a known workaround or fix for this (other than changing the background or using only a Blank gallery)?

Please create a Microsoft support ticket for this issue.
If you are using any experimental or preview features, try disabling them and then test again in a new app.
