Sort SharePoint List!

Hello,

I have a SP list which is sorted by date with the code (is greater than [Today]). But unfortunately then you can't see the past events.

My wish would be if I could sort by date and (is greater than [Today]) so that the most recent event is at the top, but all past events should slide to the bottom.

How can I do that? Thanks a lot!

    Hi @Heidi04,

    Do you mean that you can't seet the former events after you sort the records that is older than today?

    Could you please tell me that if you have more than 500 or 2000 records in your SP list?

    Maybe it is a delegation issue, if the number of records <=2000, change the value of data row limit for non-delegable queries to 2000.

    Hello together,

    My wish would be to see upcoming events sorted by [Today] date at the top and all past events slide to the bottom.

    Thank you!

    Hi @Heidi04,

    The way you operate on is not sort by the date, but a filter to filter records that is older than today.

    If you want to achieve this, you need to do this in Power Apps instead of SharePoint list.

    Add a Gallery and set the Items property:

    Sort(Filter(List,Start>=Today()),Start,Descending)

    Hi Qi,

    Thank you so much. How do I have to do this? Are there any instructions on how to do this? Will I see the result in the SharePoint list? BR, Heidi

    Hi @Heidi04,

    Integrate an app as below:

    vqiaqimsft_0-1686907477545.png

    Then you will get an app including three screens, in the first screen, there is a BrowseGallery, you just need to apply the mentioned formula to the Items property of the BrowseGallery1.

    Unfortunately, I get an error message. I seem to be doing something wrong... 😞

    Re: Sort SharePoint List!

    I see you are using Power Apps Studio in german language.

    So you have to use ; instead of ,

    If you are a bit familiar with the english language i would recommend using Power Apps Studio in english, since most of the content is in english and it can sometime be confusing fixing these , ; twist :D.

    Hope this helps!

    So the code should look like:

    Sort(Filter(List;Start>=Today());Start;Descending)

    Hello,

    now it looks like so:

    Heidi04_0-1686920590590.png

    I think that is not correct. Isn't it?
    And in my SharePoint list they do make any changes. What can I do? Thank you so much!

    Re: Sort SharePoint List!

    I think the problem is that you are copying the exact solution.

    You need to replace the List with the name of your sharepoint list.

    The same applies to the started column 🙂

    Sort(Filter('YourSharepointListName',Started>=Today()),Started,SortOrder.Descending)
