[BUG] TemplateFill autocomplete not working

Hello,

The autocomplete (suggestion of items) is not working from this position only, while it's working on others:

When entering a function, like If(, the expected behaviour is that as soon as I start typing, a suggestion of completing it would show up.

When pressing the dot . after ThisItem, there should be a list of items.

Do you still see the same behavior when you click your cursor after the . operator after ThisItem?

Yes. But maybe I wasn't clear, the suggestion don't work from the start. I can write whatever, and no suggestions will be displayed. And this is the only affected property that I noticed it on.
The logic still works, I can format the condition elsewhere and copy-paste it here.

Thank you for the clarification.

One more question: when you started typing ThisItem for the first time, did you have any text after that e.g. RGBA(0,0,0,0) which is the default value? If you have certain text after ThisItem, I can understand why it isn't showing suggestions. And then once you have completed the formula, and you come back to ThisItem, now it has a "complete" expression and is not worried about syntax so to speak.

No, I deleted everything and started typing. It's not the complete expressions.
You're focusing too much on the screenshot, and less on the issue. Let me make another one:
Here, I don't get suggestions when I type "if":

See here as an example to how it works elsewhere? When I type "if" I get suggestions:

I understand the issue. Just trying to figure out different times when this happens.

Anyways, i see you have the enhanced formula bar. Can you try by going to File->Settings->Advanced Settings and turning off the enhanced formula bar setting? I believe it is under Preview settings.

Let me know if this behavior still happens.

Without enhanced formula it works correctly.
However, developing without the structure of the enhanced formula bar would be like ... trading a sports car for a bicycle, for a lack of a more clever comparison.

So two things:

I never suggested you develop without the enhanced formula bar, and

I have more than 50 apps in production, none were made using the enhanced formula bar

Anyways, the reason I wanted to confirm that is because in my initial test, I wasn't using the enhanced formula bar. Will use that to try to reproduce the behavior you are facing.

1. Who said you were? I was only making a general observation of how good it was, even if buggy.
2. Don't know the relevance of this information, as everyone develops at their own pace, habits and deadlines, so I'll just say: good for you, it gives the devs of only 49 apps something to look up to 🙂

Also, apologies if my comments were offensive, was definitely not the intent. All I was suggesting was you to have an alternative (if this is a deal breaker), so you can have a better experience with writing expressions. Because autocomplete for me is a big feature, probably bigger than some of the others that the enhanced formula bar provides.

I still haven't tested it but will do that soon.
