Edit Form Not Updated Record - Not From Gallery

I have two lists in smartsheets that need to be updated.  One list is called "YMS Driver Transaction" and the other is called "YMS In Yard Equipment".  The "YMS Driver Transaction" list updates as I start in a gallery form (connect to 'YMS Driver Transaction' list) and I select the specific driver and update the records as necessary.  The last question in that form is what equipment is being pulled.  This dropdown comes from the "YMS In Yard Equipment" list.  Once I select it and press submit it navigates to a new edit form where the first datacardvalue is defaulted to the datacardvalue on the previous form that I just mentioned (equipment).  I now want to use this second form to update the equipment record in "YMS In Yard Equipment" sharepoint list.  The second form has the following properties:

Form: datasource: 'YMS In Yard Equipment'; defaultmode: formMode.Edit; Item: Defaults('YMS In Yard Equipment')

When I change specific fields, press submit. Nothing Happens.

Well, first, the obvious question is, what is the formula you have on your submit button OnSelect action?

The next question would be, are there any required columns that are not getting their values on the submit?

How are you setting the datacard value on the second form?

Everything else seems fine, so let's look into the above for some clues.

Happy New Year Randy and thank you for the reply!

    Second form is called GateOutTrailer_Form

OnSelect on second form: SubmitForm(GateOutTrailer_Form); Navigate(Home_Screen, Fade)

I think I found a problem that needs to be resolved first as I was looking into the required fields.  I attached an image of the screen but I noticed while the Trailer Number feeds over correctly.  The rest of the fields are not updating appropriately to what is currently in the 'YMS In Yard Equipment'.  One example is the status should not show "empty" but "Loaded".

Happy New Year to you too!

Sorry for delay...I'm trying to catch up on all the posts.  Are you still experiencing issues that you need help with?

One thing off hand...you have a Navigate function in your OnSelect action with the SubmitForm.  This should be avoided and the Navigate (and any other logic) should be put in the OnSuccess action of the form.  Otherwise, if the submit fails, you user would have no idea and would not be able to correct any issues.

Happy new year Randy and yes I am still having the issue.  I moved the navigate function to the OnSuccess action of the form.  After moving that over I did submit the form and while it navigated successfully nothing updated on my Sharepoint list.   Please see my previous reply as I think the issue might be that the “rest” of the fields are not pre-populating accurately when I first get to the form.  I can explain better, and in more detail, if required.

If nothing is getting submitted, then most likely you have a datatype mismatch somewhere.

The easiest way to track that down is to run the monitor tool and then, submit the form and see what the server response is.  It will usually indicate the problem.  See if you can identify the field that is causing the problem with that.

No formula errors I think I found the error though and still cant research the fix.   Let me restart the issue to ensure we are on the same page (I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!!!)

I have two lists in Sharepoint that need to be updated.  One called "YMS Driver Transaction" and the other "YMS In Yard Equipment".  The "YMS Driver Transaction" list updates perfectly as I start in a gallery form.  The last field in that edit form is 'equipment'.  That updates a column in the "YMS Driver Transaction" once I press submit.  When I press submit it navigates to a new edit form where the datasource is 'YMS In Yard Equipment' and all of the fields should pull from the 'Equipment' that was selected in the last edit form.   The Equipment Field has a default property that works perfectly but all of the other fields do not show the appropriate default that is aligned to that record (they are defaulted as if it is a new submission not an edit).  The default property of the Carrier field is 'ThisItem.Carrier' as an example.

Okay, then this is going to be all about the Item property of the new edit form.  What is the Item property of that, as this is how you would get the values to the new form?

The Item in the form is set to "Defaults('YMS In Yard Equipment').  The Item in the datacardvalue is set to Sort(Distinct('Equipment Type', 'Trailer Type'), Result).  'Equipment Type' is another smartsheet list where the dropdown values would be pulled from the 'Trailer Type' column.  See attached images
