Send a notification to Power BI report service when a SharePoint list modifies(using Power automate visual may be?)

Imagine we have a Power BI report that an end user uses and when the data source modifies it refreshes a PBI dataset using an automatic flow. We want to set up a notification on the same report page for any user like a card visual that alerts her when the 8 times limit reached per cycle. Again, I reiterate that we dont want a TEMAS / EMAIL or any other app to get notification because the end user must instantly notified on the same report page when the maximum no. of refreshes reached.

not using Power automate to Dataverse push notification as we dont have the infra to use Dataverse here

I would appreciate your help

    @Ardio

    As I understand it, when the SharePoint list is updated, a Flow runs that updates the dataset in Power BI.

    If that is the case, you need not worry about how many times it has been refreshed.  You can use a Flow to update Power BI as many times as you want. The 8 refresh limit does not apply.

    Thanks @ScottShearer , in fact it is exacly what we are trying to achieve, but despite this notion that I had earlier that 8 times refresh might not be applied but it is exactly what we are struggling with now: as soon as it reaches 8th time of refresh it goes to a long long coma until we kill manually and on PBI side the DS is not refreshed!!

    all in all if there is a work around to get around this 8 times refresh issue we would love to know more if not we have to notify the users (not always one user because this report is designed for global users o f the company) on the report page...

    Thanks for your help again and I look forward to hearing from you

    Try turning off the auto refresh in the Power BI service (not needed because of your Flow) and test.

    Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks @ScottShearer

    I dont get what you meant by autorefresh but here is a screenshot of what happens in reality when we refresh it by Power Automate. As obviousely it can be seen as soon as it reached 8 times(2 times on demand + 6 times power automate) it stops to accept the request from Power Automate!!!

    @Ardio

    I will do some testing this evening and reach out to the Power BI team if necessary.  I will report back tomorrow.

    The bottom line is that I was wrong - refreshes initiated via Power BI do count towards the magic 8 number.  I have been told for years that Power Automate refreshes did not count against the limit but never tested.  I have tested and can verify that I see the same results as you.

    That said, I don't know of a way to meet your requirement.  The only answers I can come up with involve additional licenses such as premium per user for anyone who would access the report.  Even then, there is a limit of 48 per day.

    @ScottShearer  Thank you!

    Is it possible to add a flag (like a field or a column) to the SharePoint list (as our data source) and in Power Automate do we have a capability to count the this flied when there is a change in the DS and it triggers a push to PBI?!

    Not sure if this idea even correct or not?
