If we have a People or group column which allow multiple selection, can we filter it based if the login user is inside this field without getting any delegation error

I have 2 fields named To & Cc they are of type SharePoint People or Group fields which allow multiple selections, and i want to show the items where the login user created them OR is defined inside the To field Or is defined inside the Cc field, so i tired this formula:-

now i am able to filter based on the Created By.. but got 2 delegation warnings when filtering the To & Cc .. is there any workaround to filter People or Group fields which allow multiple selections? our data-source is expected to reach 10,000 items soon.

Thanks

    Hi @johnjohn123 ,

Two issues here - CountRows() is not Delegable and you will need the in Filter for multiple selections which is also not Delegable. Also if you are going to have 10k records, I suggest you stay away from complex field types (Lookup, people etc) and use Power Apps to do all the work (Lookups and Office365User connector) and write back to Text fields.

@WarrenBelz  i am already avoiding using lookups and i am storing the IDs of the other list items inside a free text.. but i can not find any workarounds if we want to store People or Group which allow multiple selections...

second question when you mentioned to stay away from complex field types >> does this cover People or Group which allow single selection?

    Thanks

    Hi @johnjohn123 ,

People or Group types are complex (and you can use the Office365Users connector instead), but you are correct that multiple selections require a complex field type (it can be a Choice column, but that does not help). Unfortunately as I mentioned, if you want to query using one of these fields, you will have to use a non-delegable process. The only way you can achieve this is to "pre-filter" the list with something Delegable and get the resulting number under your Delegation limit and then filter your multi-choice fields on this.
