combo box - how to display record on sharepoint list as default

Hi all

I have combobox3 in my form (Form5) which uses the following in the ITEMs control: Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:ComboBox3.SearchText}).Mail

this successfully writes to my Sharepoint list: 'DOF'

Happy days!

However, the days are not happy for long, as when I go back into the form, the combo box doesn't display the record that was chosen and has written to 'DOF' Is there anyway of using the Default or DefaultSelectedItems controls so it displays what has been written to 'DOF' when the form is viewed?

Try This :

In Default value of the datacard :
ThisItem.<Column Name>.<Record Column Name>

In Default of the combo Box :
Parent.Default

I'm not quite sure what the <Column Name> and <Record Column Name> are?

the name of the field that it writes to on the 'DOF' Sharepoint List is field_15, which one is that? the Column Name?, so what is the Record column Name?

combobox3:

Update: ComboBox3.Selected.Mail

so when you choose an email from the combobox it writes to my Sharepoint list on Field_15.

I then want the combobox to display what has been chosen and written on to the sharepoint list whenever the form is viewed. currently it doesn't show the chosen option when you go back into the form.

If I am not wrong the value gets updated in database, the only problem is retrieving it right ??
For that i will have to see the sharepoint list.

Yes, the value is written to the Sharepoint List, but won't appear as selected on the form of the power app when that record is displayed on the form.

what specifically do you need to see of the Sharepoint List?
