Flow owner email address changed in AAD

Posted on by 8
Hi all,

I've got a user that has recently had his email address changed in AAD, from first.last.extern@org.com to first.last@org.com.
I know that this action shouldn't cause any issues by itself, but what got me worried is that his flows still show the old email as the flow owner.
AFAIK an alias hasn't been configured.

My question is whether this is:
a) by design but shouldn't cause any issues
b) by design but we should manually change the owner of the flow to the new address just to be sure
c) a bug/caching issue/...

No issues with the flows have been reported so far, but I'd rather make sure, so that nothing gets lost in the future.

Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Flow owner email address changed in AAD
    Hi @FLMike,

I'm not a m365 admin so I had to look the stuff up, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
UPN has remained unchanged, it's the primary email that got updated.

    UPN:                  XX###@org.com
    Primary email:   first.last@org.com

Now my understanding is that it's the UPN that is the primary identifier of the account when it comes to
PA connections, but I'll advise the user to update the owner of the flow as you suggested.

    Thanks again.

Flow owner email address changed in AAD
    HI,

So when someone changes they name and or email it doesn't necessarily mean the UPN changed, or that the primary email changed. It could very well be another created for them. While you dont think an alias was created, its not so much an alias anyway.

If you pull that user up in Outlook, and look at their Details. Do it show 2 different emails for them? This is usually what I see in this case.

Although the flows should be transfered to someone else so as not to cause issues between UPN and Primary email which are not specifically the same thing anymore.

I'd have to review the AAD configuration for them to know for sure.
