Hello everyone! First time poster, fairly new to the Power Platform, so 🤞...
I've had a flow up and running for some time, that takes info from a MS Form and kicks off a series of Approvals based on the responses, recording them along the way. Pretty straightforward, but filtering is complicated with about 30 conditions built in. I would like to replace the filtering conditions with, e.g. a lookup, that returns an email address that is then used for the Approval.
There are over 50 emails that could receive the Approval. And I want the addresses to be hidden - so things like a drop down list won't work (would be too long anyway!) Therefore I'm exploring whether it's possible to use a free text field that will determine where the Approval is sent. Overview:
- Applicant fills out a form (using MS Forms) and enters criteria into a free text field
- The flow checks that free text against a list (SP or Excel) and returns a full email address
- That email address should be accessible in Dynamic Content
- An Approval is then sent to that email address
For example:
- Applicant fills the free text field with any of roads, cars, truck, trucks, bike etc
- The flow then looks up a row on a SP list that contains all of these words, and finds a corresponding email address, e.g. highways@npsc.com
- highways@npsc.com is then auto-populated as the recipient for an Approval action
I realise there are other possibilities to achieve this, such as drop down lists, departmental level filtering and so on - but none of them are particularly viable for us. If anyone knows how this could be achieved, it would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Neil S
